HOW TO INSERT DATE IN GOOGLE SHEET: AN EASY GUIDE

It’s very easy and straightforward to insert dates in Google sheets. Entering dates one by one is a lengthy process. Google sheet has got an easy solution for you. You can easily add the dates in the Google sheet rows and columns. 

How to Insert Date in Google Sheet

Step 1: Select the rows or columns where you want to add the dates as shown in the screenshot.

Step 2: Now click on Data and go to option “Data Validation”.

Step 3: Now in Criteria option select Date and you will find “ is a valid date” in the next dropdown option. Now click “Save”

Step 4: Now go to any of the cells in Google sheet that you selected before and double click on the mouse or touchpad. You will see that the calendar has appeared. Now click on your selected date and it will be inserted in your Google sheet cell.

How to Insert Date in Google Sheet automatically and consecutively

If you are inserting the dates for attendance or for any other cause where you need consecutive dates, you can do it very easily. You do not need to double click in every cells for that. Follow these simple steps to insert date in Google sheet consecutively and automatically. 

  1. Insert the first date in the first cell or the cell from where you want to start. In the below screenshot I have chosen 2022-12-01 as the first date. Now single click on the first date and if you keep the pointer in the bottom right corner of the cell, you will see the plus (+) sign.

  1. Hold the plus icon with the mouse click and drag below. If you want, add in the rows and drag right. Now you will see that dates are inserted consecutively in your selected rows or column.
